NEW YORK, NEW YORK – After recently publishing a headline that drew criticism from numerous media members and other Democrats, the New York Times announced that from now on all of their headlines will be pre-approved by the Democratic National Committee.

"As the official flagship publication of the DNC, the New York Times needs to stay in step with us," said a spokesperson for DNC Chairman Tom Perez. "The original headline simply was not anti-Trump enough, so it had to be changed."

A New York Times spokesperson explained what happened.

"We used a headline that fit the facts, but not the narrative, and we sincerely apologize for that."

"Going forward, the DNC will review and approve each headline before it's used. This, on top of our current weekly meetings with the DNC to go over their desired spin and Democratic talking points, should ensure we are always correctly advancing the Democrats' agenda."
