Democrats Outraged that Attorney General is Following the Law

Nancy Pelosi

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressional Democrats are furious with Attorney General William Barr over his handling of the Mueller report, claiming Barr has no business following the law.

Their first complaint was when Barr followed the requirements of the Special Counsel statute and provided Congress with a summary of the report.

Upon receiving the summary, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded, "We don't need you interpreting for us. It was condescending, it was arrogant, and it wasn't the right thing to do. So, the sooner they can give us the information, the sooner we can all make a judgment about it."

Evidently when the laws don't work in Democrats' favor, people who follow those laws are condescending and arrogant.

Democrats became even more angry when Barr announced that the report he releases will contain all the necessary redactions required by Federal rules and guidelines.

Chuck Schumer demanded, "It is imperative for Mr. Barr to make the full report public. And provide its underlying documentation and findings to Congress."

Mazie Hirono stated, "Congress needs to see the full report to assess the underlying evidence."

The laws and policies are very clear, and require Barr to redact four types of information: grand jury material, sensitive intelligence, matters that could affect ongoing investigations, and infringements on the privacy rights of "peripheral third parties."

However, none of these regulations and guidelines phase Democrats, and they demand that Barr ignore the law and do what the Democrats want.
